The National Parks is unquestionably the best idea anyone has ever come up with! There is so much to catch the eye in the Alaskan frontier, it’s almost too much to ask of brush and pigment!

Big Bend National Park
Oil
Our National Parks are America's treasure to be enjoyed by everyone. Big Bend National Park is located in southwest Texas where the Rio Grande flows through it forming the southern border between the United States and Mexico. It is home to majestic canyons, mountains, desert, a variety of vegetation, wildlife, and beautiful vistas. The park is also a wealth of recreational opportunities, making it worth visiting and one of my favorite places to paint.

Caddo Lake at Sunrise
Watercolor
The quiet lake in the cool of the morning teeming with bass, catfish and pickerel being brushed by the wings of herons and egrets is a little bit of heaven on earth. The stately bald cypress shades and divides the lake into many serene panoramas.

I See You, Arches National Park, Moab (UT)
Oil on Canvas
This painting explores a distinctive familiar American landscape seen with an unusual perspective and greatly affected by the weather at the time of my visit. Often, we are so focus on a certain aspect of a place or even a person that we might miss the magical moment that lies behind the obvious. On this case, pass the iconic “Delicate Arch” a magnificent background appeared for a brief time. Perhaps this might never happen again. Always keep your eyes and heart open for those not so "in your face" but nonetheless memorable experiences. "I See You”.

On highway 90, northwest of Marfa, TX, a storm rolls through the West Texas plains and the hills of the Davis Mountains. As I stood on the side of the road trying to capture the scene, I heard a mechanical drumming in the distance. As it drew closer, the train engineer blared his horn to give a preemptive "hello". As he passed by, with an arm outstretched, two complete strangers gave their acknowledgment to each other with grins on their faces. We traveled in different directions afterwards, one with supplies to keep the workers of the nearby land going, the other with a packet of peanuts and a bottle of water, one heading out of the storm, one heading into it, neither to cross paths again.

Where the Light Rests
Acrylic on Canvas
As the day fades, the last warmth of the sun settles across the quiet lake. The mountains soften into shadow while the meadow blooms in shades of pink, catching the final glow of the evening. In this moment, time seems to slow—water, sky, and wildflowers resting together in the calm between daylight and night.
This painting reflects the peaceful feeling found in nature when the world grows still and the light lingers just a little longer before disappearing beyond the hills.
